Voice over script

  • Introduction
T1-07, Ben, Peter, Michael and we chose Justin Timberlake's song Last Night
  • filming shots alone (P)
These opening shots where filmed by me on my own due to transport issues and we believe that the shots came out well.
  •  Spilt screen to "Suit and Tie" and comparisons and representation
This shot here shows a good representation we where trying to achieve, here we have a clip from Justin's other song "Suit and Tie" we can see that we successfully represented the artist through the use of a suit as it's common in Justin's other work.
  • Opening shot, walking, shaking and stabilising- split screen to rough cut (B)
When we first filmed our rough cut we had this sequence here where Peter was walking towards the camera how ever we had to replace this shot as it was very shacking and not very interesting.
  • Split screen to "Take Back the Night"
Here we also have a good comparison to another one of Justin's music videos "Take Back the Night", these two sequences are very similar.
  • Camera angles and how they worked
The response we received from camera angles was quite positive, we empathised this during filming because it is easy to say one angle is fine then move on to something else. We ended up filming several takes of the same thing in different angles to make sure we have a lot of variety.
  • Black and white filter
As you can see we used a black and white filter in our video, this was a very back and forth thing for use as we weren't sure whether we where going to have the filter throughout the video or just for certain bits. We ended up deciding at the last minuet as we thought it might be confusing to the audience and it makes it fit in with the style.
  • Editing on the beat and feed back
From the feed back we where able to take a good look at our work and we saw a few bits where we could edit to the beat and it would be effect for example.
  • looking away from camera at 1:50
Peter did this throughout the day, i'm sure he was unaware of this, it does provide some inconsistencies but overall not many responses contained this so we believe that it wasn't as big a deal as say, the lip-syncing.
  • lip syncing- Rough cut not many people liked, Final cut 50/50 split from feedback

  • Locations and variety of it at 3:40
We tried to have a lots of different locations in our video and one of the most common prices if feedback we got was that we had a good variety of shot locations throughout our video.
  • Digipak and poster
